The law firm of David Murphree, LLC, was founded August 1, 1998, on the following fundamental principles:

We have helped thousands of people overcome the crushing burden of unmanageable debt and restore their financial stability. Our firm is dedicated solely to the practice of bankruptcy, and our focus is on the successful conclusion of all the law firm’s cases and financial independence for our clients.

Our firm is managed by its lead attorney, David Murphree. David is a 1991 graduate of the Cumberland School of Law, where he served as an editor of the Cumberland Law Review. David was also the recipient of the Order of the Coif and a Cordell Hull Fellowship.

After graduation, David served as the law clerk to the Honorable Tamara O. Mitchell, United States Bankruptcy Judge for the Northern District of Alabama. After that, he served as an associate of The Page Law Firm, a prestigious Birmingham, Alabama, law firm focusing on complex consumer litigation.

David is a frequent speaker at bankruptcy seminars, and has written extensively on many issues related to consumer bankruptcy. David is also the former Technology Chair of the Bankruptcy and Consumer Law Section of the Birmingham Bar Association, which he currently serves as Membership Director.

Following his graduation from Auburn University in 1985, David pursued a career in journalism. David is an award-winning newspaper writer and editor, and his work has been read in a variety of publications ranging from USA Today, Birmingham magazine, and the Detroit Free Press, and the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. David’s interviews from his news career range from sports legends such as Herschel Walker and Bo Jackson, and celebrities from Jay Leno to The Amazing Kreskin.

Day-to-day operations and case management of the law firm is handled by Shari Murphree. Shari is responsible for co-ordinating client appointments and communications, and other matters related to the successful conclusion of the firm’s cases.

Shari came to the firm from a strong commercial background. She is exceptionally well-versed in customer service and the co-ordination of major projects. Shari deals with both our clients and their creditors. She also understands the importance of a cohesive relationship between the firm and its clients.

The firm also employs a case-preparation paralegal who is responsible for follow-up client interviews and the completion of accurate and complete paperwork necessary for the successful conclusion of the firm’s cases.
