We know how to get things done. Our lead attorney, David Murphree, began practicing law in 1991. He has focused on personal bankruptcy from the very start. Early in his career, he served as law clerk to the Honorable Tamara O. Mitchell, United States bankruptcy judge for the Northern District of Alabama. This position provided him with an insider's view of the bankruptcy court system and the players involved. Now, the knowledge gained from that experience is put to use, serving people in bankruptcy cases in Birmingham and throughout the surrounding parts of Alabama.
David is a member of the Bankruptcy and Commercial Law Section of the Birmingham Bar Association. He has been an adjunct professor of legal research and writing at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He has shared his knowledge of bankruptcy law with his peers as a frequent speaker at legal education seminars.
In addition to his knowledge of the law, David is also an experienced journalist. After earning a degree in journalism from Auburn University, he worked as a writer for several Southern newspapers, including The Birmingham News, the Columbus Enquirer and the Opelika-Auburn News.
