Our Mission: Help You Restore Your Life And Start You on Your Way to a New Day
The great American songwriter Woody Guthrie once wrote, "some will rob you with a six-gun, and some with a fountain pen." Guthrie penned those words in 1939. Today, the same sentiment echoes throughout our society. In an economy of corporate bailouts and makeshift fixes, the loss of individual worth is staggering.
Our mothers and fathers worked hard, and their compact with their employers was simple: “Take care of us, and we will take care of you.” Today, the principles of corporate loyalty have been abrogated. We may work hard, but our guarantee of any return on our investment of service has been replaced by the notion of expendability.
We have also, unfortunately, evolved into a nation of debtors, an idea that frightened Thomas Jefferson and Abraham Lincoln, who both wrote on the perils of fostering an economy too heavily indebted to either the government or private business. Lincoln, for example, saw the so-called “money power” as something that “preys upon the nation in times of peace and conspires against it in times of adversity.”
Today, this feeling of being preyed upon is almost absolute. Our clients, in discussing their attempts to resolve their financial situation, express one common theme: “I tried to work with them, but they refused.”
The constant struggle to overcome – to “dig yourself out of the hole” – often ends in desperation. It spawns even more serious issues. Health problems, problems at work and at home, restless nights, and denying yourself and your dependents some necessities in order to meet the demands of others are all natural consequences of unmanageable debt. These, ultimately lead to one inescapable and unwelcome circumstance: a life in shambles.
We would all, no doubt, like to live in a world without uncertainty, to obtain what Franklin D. Roosevelt called the “Four Freedoms.” Chief among FDR’s wishes were that every person live in a world free of want and free of fear. If unmanageable debt is holding you back from attaining your freedom – your peace of mind – please do not hesitate to consider bankruptcy as a practical, worthwhile solution.
For years, we have helped people struggling to overcome the feeling of being robbed by society, the feeling of not having their share or their place. But mostly, we have helped people overcome the feeling of desperation and having nowhere else to turn. Our greatest reward is to see those feelings vanish, replaced with a sense of hope and purpose.
We believe that the key to future prosperity is to end the cycle of oppressive debt, to relieve the pressures of worry or fearfulness, and to return to life. It is our mission to help you restore your life. We believe we can do it.
